Sweetwater Junior High basketball coach Joe Allen has been named the new SHS head boys' basketball coach. Allen has been the SJHS head coach since 1996.  According to SHS Athletic Director Caleb Norwood, "We wanted somebody that has a great work ethic and has a great value system. [...] You want someone who can go win and [Allen] has done that."

Joe Allen has coached most of the SHS players, and, in turn, built a relationship with a majority of the team.  We are excited to have coach Allen at Sweetwater High School!

Volleyball Comes to Sweetwater High School
Coach Sarah DaviesCoach Taylor Harris
Head softball coach Sarah Davies and HVAC teacher Taylor Harris have made history at SHS by creating the school's first ever Girls' Volleyball team. Many girls came out, 21 total made the team, 11 of which are expected to make up the varsity team.  The team only has one senior, Kylee Kamps.

Head volleyball coach Sarah Davies played volleyball in high school, and was even recruited to play in college, but chose basketball instead.  She coached softball in Texas for 10 years, the last five years of which she served as head coach.  This will make her 10th year as the SHS head softball coach.

Joining her as assistant volleyball coach is Taylor Harris.  Harris graduated from SQHS where she played volleyball.  She helped coach volleyball, working with Monroe County Youth for a few years.  Last year was her first year teaching at Sweetwater High School.  This will be the first time she has coached a high school sport.

Join us as we cheer on our new Girls' Volleyball Team!
