Therapeutic, Biotechnology, Diagnosic, Health Informatics, Support Services are some examples of the pathways.

We have completed our study of Infection Control. You learned many things, most importantly how to properly wash your hands and how to prevent the spread of disease. (The handout from CDC at the sink's in the classroom are PSA's).
It is your turn to share with others through a "Public Service Annoucement" why infection control is so necessary in preventing the spread of disease. You can do handwashing to be placed in the bathrooms however, think of other things that would be of interest to you personally, and you may want to make your announcement about that.
We are in the middle of the Covid 10- Pandemic, and are having to make many new adjustments. Masks, social distancing, etc.......Remember you can go to the CDC.gov website for any details and information regarding Covid 19- Influenza, etc.
Using the elongated white paper sheets, or regular copy paper or construction paper: ( all of this is on the shelf), create your very own Public Service Announcement educating your school about how to control the spread of disease. Be creative. Feel free to use the markers, crayons, and colored markers. (See class announcement to follow in regards to disease prevention). Use Pintrest or the web for ideas. This is due the end of class. You were shown examples in class.

Secondly, we will see how many things you can count or write down that turn yellow, as you watch the "Infection control:break the chain" video.
We will review this study by watching "The Most Dangerous Woman in America" and Kaci Hickox.
At the end of day 1: You the student should be able to name the links in the Chain of Infection, understand how to break it.
9-15-20: We will preform Skill # 13, Isolation gowning and gloving.
9-17-20: Glogerm Hand washing Experiment (In class)
*** VIRTUAL STUDENTS*** watch the 1 minute video using black pepper, water, and dish washing liquid. . Take a short (60 sec or less) video or take a picture of you performing this experiment at home and write down your Hypothesis ( an educated guess) , why this result occurred the way it did. An example: I used less liquid dish detergent, I used more liquid detergent. (We cause these variables).
Just do the best you can, if you discover a similar hand washing experiment, send it to me, I would love to see it. *Finally, upload into your portfolio, under infection control**
