Week 4/6 Assignment 2
TOPIC - MEASUREMENTS
We are going to work on estimation on square footage.
What I want you to do is calculate square feet using a pace guide.
For example, many times I give an estimate, I might want to find the sq. ft. of a garage. For every step, with little stretch, that would be 3 feet. So, if I step off the length of the garage & my steps add up to 8. I would timesx's that by 3 ft. The length of the garage should be close to 24 feet. Now I do the same for the width of the garage & steps were 10. Take that number & x's by 3 = 30 feet in width.
Now, to find the square feet... take the estimate width x length.
The garage estimated sq. ft. 720 square feet.
Your Assignment.
1. Find the estimated sq. ft. of your bedroom. Remember, you will times your steps by 3 ft prior to putting that figure into the width blank, same for the length.
________width x ___________length = _____________square feet
2. Find the estimated sq. ft. of the kitchen.
3. Find the estimated sq. ft. of outside dimensions of your residence. You will need to go outside & measure (step off) the width & length.
Also, if you have any questions or concerns, you can send those to the same email.
Miss you guys
