Chromebooks Ready for Students!

Chromebooks are available in the library, and there are a few important things that parents need to know.

First and foremost, students need to come by and get their Chromebooks as soon as possible.  Nearly every teacher requires students to complete work on their devices on a daily basis, so we ask that parents do what they can to get these devices into the hands of their children by the end of this week.  To do that, we need parents to do the following:

  • Sign the Chromebook Agreement
In order for students to be able to get their Chromebooks, the Chromebook Agreement form MUST be signed by the Parents.  This can be done online here and requires your child's student ID # (click the link and complete the form if you need to request the student ID #).  If you need to sign the paperwork in person, please check in at the office when you arrive before coming to the library.  Mr. Jones has classes and will not be available at the following times:
Monday = 10:30am to 11:15am
Wednesday and Friday = 9:35am to 1:10pm

  • Pay the Technology Fee and Any Other Accrued Fees
The $35 Technology fee (or Chromebook insurance fee) is used to purchase insurance for your child's Chromebook.  If any accidental or unintentional damages occur to the device, the protective case, or the charger, there is no cost to the student/parent. However, If the fee is not paid and no insurance is purchased, or if a student loses or intentionally damages the device, the protective case, or the charger, students/parents are responsible for paying a fee to replace the devices which can cost anywhere from $32 to $257 (or more).  If you have accrued any other fees in the past, these also need to be paid before a student can get a Chromebook.  These fees can be paid with cash or check (please make checks payable to MONROE COUNTY SCHOOLS) and given to Mr. Jones in the Library.  Online payments are currently unavailable, but if there is a way to pay with a credit card, we will share that with parents immediately.  If you have any questions or concerns about the Technology Fee or your ability to pay it, please email Mr. Jones ([email protected]), and he will get back to you within 24 hours.

We want every child to be successful at Sweetwater High School, and the only way they can do that is by getting their Chromebook.  Please go online and sign the Chromebook Agreement as soon as possible and make sure your child comes by the library and sees Mr Jones to get their Chromebooks.  We will begin calling and emailing the parents of students who have not picked up their Chromebook by Friday, August 11th, 2023.
